Billing Information Update

We want to inform you of an important change in our billing process at Mediscreen Clinic. As part of evolving healthcare regulations and guidelines, we are updating how transactions are processed at our clinic to better align with industry standards. Effective 1^st August 2023, transactions made at our clinic will undergo the following changes:

1. ABN and Trading Name:

Previous Model: Transactions were processed using the ABN and Trading Name of Mediscreen Clinic.

New Model: Transactions will now be made using the ABN of the doctor providing your medical services, with the Trading Name being either the doctor's name or the doctor's company name.

2. Clinic's Role:

Our clinic serves as a crucial support hub for healthcare professionals. We provide essential administrative and cleaning services that aid our dedicated doctors in delivering top-quality medical care to our patients.

What This Means for You:

This billing adjustment is primarily an administrative change and will not impact the quality of care you receive at our clinic. We remain committed to delivering exceptional medical services and ensuring your experience with us is as seamless as ever.

Fees

Monday to Friday - 8:00am - 7:00pm

Standard visit $90 (Medicare Rebate $41.40)

Pensioner/HCC holder $75 (Medicare Rebate $41.40)

Non Medicare card holders $95

Long visit $130 (Medicare Rebate $81.10)

Pensioner/HCC holders $115 (Medicare Rebate $81.10)

Non Medicare card holders $135

Extended visit $150 (Medicare Rebate $118.00)

Pensioner/HCC holders $137 (Medicare Rebate $118.00)

Non Medicare card holders $155

Children under 16 are Bulk Billed except weekends and public holidays

Patients without a valid Medicare Card will be charged an extra $5

From August 1^st2023, owing to the rapidly rising costs, payments made to Mediscreen Clinic via card will attract a merchant surcharge fee. Please ask our staff what each card charges prior to your payment.

Weekends and public holidays

Saturday - 8:00am - 1:00pm $95 (Medicare Rebate $41.40)

Sunday - 9:00am - 12:00pm $110 (Medicare Rebate $53.90)

Public holidays - 9:00am - 12:00pm $110 (Medicare Rebate $53.90)

These are the rates for standard consults. If a long or extended appointment occurs then the fee may be higher. Please ask reception for these fees.

Payment of private accounts is required at the time of consultation. We accept cash, cheque, EFTPOS and most major credit cards with the exception of American Express and Diners Club. Mediscreen Clinic has a number of options to help you get your Medicare Rebate. With Medicare Easyclaim you can get your rebate instantly if you have an EFTPOS/Debit card linked to a Savings or Cheque account. Alternatively, it can be transmitted on-line with Medicare and overnight your rebate will be deposited into your nominated bank account. If you have any concerns about the fees please discuss them with your doctor.

Overseas students

Overseas students who have a current and valid membership with Medibank or OSHC Allianz Worldcare will be direct billed. Only the gap amount of $53.60 (for a standard consultation) will need to be paid at the time of the appointment.

Other fees

Some consultations may incur an extra fee to cover the cost of instruments, extra time and stock required. Some examples of consultations with extra fees are listed below. Please clarify costs with our reception staff if you are concerned prior to your appointment.

Allergy testing (less than 20 allergens) - $45 (Medicare rebate $33.15)

Allergy testing (more than 20 allergens) - $60 (Medicare rebate 50.05)

Botox anti wrinkle injections - $16 per unit

Iron Infusion - $180 (no rebate)

Implanon insertion - $77 (Medicare Rebate $35.60)

Implanon removal - $154 (Medicare Rebate $ 51.65- $60.75)

Pregnancy test (Urine hCG) - $15 (Medicare rebate $8.65)

Wound dressings - $5 per visit

Removal of plaster/fibreglass cast that was not applied at our clinic - $57 (This fee is not rebatable by Medicare)

24 hour Blood Pressure Monitoring - $70 (This fee is not rebatable by Medicare)

Crutches for hire - $50 refundable deposit & $10 per week if kept more than 2 weeks (This fee is not rebatable by Medicare)

Vaccination Fees

Childhood Vaccinations (according to the current Immunisation Schedule) will always be bulk billed. Travel vaccines and other private vaccines will be charged for as below per dose:

Hepatitis A & B (Twinrix) - $85
Typhoid (Typhim VI) - $65
Hepatitis A & Typhoid (Vivaxim) - $165
Gardasil 9 - $200
Boostrix - $50
Meningococcal B (Bexsero) - $165
Meningococcal ACWY (Menactra) - $80
Yellow Fever (Stamaril) - $115
Chicken Pox (Varilrix/Varivax) - $80

Shingrix (Shingles vaccine) - $280

Please note that travel vaccines will require consultation with a doctor to determine the appropriate vaccines for you to have according to your own vaccination history, the area/s you will be traveling in and other health related factors.
